Most of them OmniaLITE Samsung B7300 specs are quite a good match to the Omnia original. There are some differences of course, but in the eyes of potential buyers, they simply can not make or break as we think. And then it's a pretty fair trade and unique given the asking price.
The RAM has doubled and the standard microUSB port come at the cost of a small screen and a camera downgraded. But these differences are not really enough to take two devices so far.
We guess the LITE version looks quite a bargain - at least on paper. But do not think Samsung has suddenly become charitable. The thing is the original Omnia has produced offspring impressive. And the lineup is so strong segmentation and the market has evolved so that users can enjoy a high-end functionality at a midrange price. But the important question is will the B7300 OmniaLITE survive in the shadow of his brothers and sisters almost iconic Tops easily our all-time ranking of the popularity of Samsung phones.
As usual when such issues arise, we try to provide answers. To begin, we will check if the build quality and ergonomics in the B7300 are up to high standards of his older brother. Then, hop on the next page where we kick off nicely.
Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE 360-degree rotation
Standing at 107 x 51.8 x 12.9 mm, the OmniaLITE is roughly what you expect from a handset with full touch screen of this size. The 12.9mm thick OmniaLITE not impressed mesh, but the grip is very good. She slipped easily into most pockets too, just expect to feel anything close to a Nokia E52.
Design and construction
Design is the case OmniaLITE deviates considerably from the original Omnia. The original device was exquisite, as befitted his high-end (in time) standing. The OmniaLITE low profile, on the other hand seems more easygoing and perhaps a little juvenile with the curious mixture of design features it offers.Shiny silver plastic, shiny black panels - reasons behind - and the red top and bottom may not go together very well. The combination of design may be too fat - there are edges, ovals (and hexagonal patterns on the back). We are either much older than the target or is the original Omnia which still holds strong, but we are not impressed. The cheapish looking plastic does not help much either.
You have every right to disagree and be madly in love with OmniaLITE. And feel free to think what you want about our trial design. Just note that we do not encourage emails informing us of our bad taste ...
Anyway, at the top right side of the earpiece, there is the secondary video call camera for 3G-enabled Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE.What follows is largely the 3 "touchscreen, with the platform usual 65K-color support. This is the resolution - WQVGA (240 x 400 pixels) - which indicates that the position of the midrange OmniaLITE. We began to get used to WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) on Pocket PC lately and we hate to say but the quality of the image on the OmniaLITE is not zero. And then we're talking about a device much cheaper here and WQVGA is quite normal for the category
In fact, the brightness of the screen is fairly good. It is the contrast so poor that distinguishes it from its upscale cousins. Although sunlight and readability. But, frankly, we do not expect too much here anyway. It is really difficult to see anything on the screen outdoors on a sunny and find a good angle to work with the phone is a real challenge.
It's not like we're not used to seeing less than perfect PocketPC screens if we are almost ready to let it go. This is no worse than the original Omnia anyway and that does not prevent it from becoming a great success.
The last thing to note on the front is the Back / Close key wedged between the call keys. The left side of Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE sports volume rocker, the menu key and the pinhole reset. The buttons on this side are pleasantly tactile and responsive.
On the right side of the OmniaLITE, we fall on the microSD card slot, surrounded by the lock button and the shutter. The really bad part about the camera key is that it has only one press. No half-press-to-focus, full-press-ups routine with OmniaLITE resulting in a dramatic situation experienced by ti
All that is responsible Samsung B7300 is OmniaLITE spokesman. There is no stylus slot on OmniaLITE so if you like biting your phone screen with a small plastic stick that you better look elsewhere. Not that we miss it too, but some parts of the Windows operating system are still not enough finger-friendly on screen 3 "and that in turn causes problems with usability. The top houses the standard microUSB port and the lanyard eyelet. The port connectivity is covered by a plastic cover to keep dust away.
The rear OmniaLITE welcomes the megapixel lens 3 and the loudspeaker grill. There was no flash of any kind here so we can easily say that photography is not the element Samsung B7300
Removing the back panel reveals the huge 1500 mAh Li-ion battery that powers the OmniaLITE. The generous capacity, combined with the economic WQVGA screen, give the Samsung B7300 great battery life. He cites the manufacturer to 650h in standby until 9am of talk time.
It's pretty impressive, no matter how you look and experience of real life has come to say. The combined easily lasted more than 4 days of moderate use (20 minutes of talk time and 1 hour to use the phone features a day).
Overall we are very satisfied with the quality of the construction of OmniaLITE Samsung B7300. The materials look strong and this look cheapish one that bothers us. On the positive side, we have not heard any crackling or other noise nuisance to the time of our review and we guess OmniaLITE resist wear and tear. Again, the LITE is nothing impressive aspect of the original Omnia is more or less implied by the price tag of 270-300 Euro. We're not too impressed by the mix of design, but the handset can be in contact with the young, a less conservative.
FM radio is good to go
The FM radio on OmniaLITE B7300 Samsung has a really nice interface and simple and can automatically scan and save the available stations in your area. It also has RDS support and automatic scanning frequency of replacement. This means that if you travel during the reception, OmniaLITE should take care of automatic switching for the regional frequencies of your selected radio station.
The handset also supports recording of broadcasts and of course can be minimized to play in the background.
There is room for only six of the shortcuts to your favorite stations on the radio screen app.
The audio quality has its ups and downs
The audio quality of the OmniaLITE Samsung B7300 is a bit of a mixed bag. The noise level extremely low stereocrosstalk and excellent dynamic range are the strengths of performance OmniaLITE.
The frequency response is good for most of the range, but the low frequency cutoff does not allow us to qualify as something more than all decent. The total harmonic distortion is the worst part about the audio output OmniaLITE from several times higher than usual. Not that he is too disturbing, but we're used to Seing much better for most other devices.
And here go the results so you can see how OmniaLITE compared to some of its competitors:
