The Liquid Acer: hands on review

"><>

We've heard for a while Acer was planning to release an Android phone, but the news that the new cash will be the most powerful on the market is new to our ears.

For so long we have read the complaints on the user forums on cool new Windows Mobile-Powered Phones, with most of them calling for his execution Android instead of awesome equipment.

But the good news is, with Android 1.6 on the way, the possibility of improving the material is much larger and Acer wasted no time to use it.

Not only come in a variety of colors (white, red and black, although we bet they are called White Dream, Danger velvet red and black at the launch happens) the chassis is also slightly different in that it is curved, although bearing a strong resemblance to the range Windows Mobile from the manufacturer.

The phone is light and bright with a responsive touch screen, which bodes well obviously. We could not see how the resolution is better for the home screen display, and unfortunately there was no video on board to check.

It makes a microUSB slot (Nice) and a 3.5mm headphone jack (making the request Spotify even more attractive), so Acer has developed what is necessary on a phone like that.

The home screen looks like the implementation of vanilla type of Android, with some curious scroll wheels on the side to display images and Web bookmarks - we'd imagine these could be adapted to allow users to scroll through the media according to their taste.

We had a bit of a dig in the menus and we could not find anything that caused the liquid Acer trolling at all - while it's far from an extensive test yet that this bodes well for snapdragon-Powered device.

We're also curious to see how the Contacts menu integrates Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and more - without doubt it is closing on information overload? Unfortunately, it was not available in trial, but it certainly seems interesting.

The key lock is again locked up the power button - a button that we are a fan, and the liquid Acer has placed the ideal height on the left to reach and use easily.

The set is covered with a shiny black plastic monkey Nice line of Windows Mobile in place as well - but both the liquid and the combined WM flagship, the NeoTouch Acer, a 5MP camera on board, the liquid lack the flash of his big brother.

Overall we were impressed by our fast game with Liquid Acer - bodes well for Android that this level of hardware integration has already appeared so early in the life of the OS.

We just need to see how much it will cost and how the developer community will respond to all these new options to play with.
